The World
People
In the Prism world, there are 3 races: Kyruk, Han, and Suado.
Kyruk (k-eye-ROOK): The Kyruk live in the southern portion of the continent. They are generally a hostile and seemingly savage people. Physically, the Kyruk are built for battle with broad frames, and muscular limbs. They are generally short ranging from 1.3 meters to 1.6 meters for adults. Most Kyruk have tanned skin due to their light clothing, and their hot environment. Many Kyruk wear body paint as a sign of their house and their status. In fights, these people are very strong and can withstand a lot of damage; however, they are not particularly agile and thus their fighting suffers. Culturally, the Kyruk are close minded, and prefer the comfort of the ways they know. Very few are believers in crystal technology, however, there are a few who do believe and have successfully integrated with other races. The Kyruk are masters of curing skins and weaving; as a result, many individuals wear hand crafted cloths and skins and often sell these goods for a fair deal as they are highly prized commodities. They also take great pride in crafting jewlery out of bone and semiprecious stones. They are largely a hunting and gathering society, rarely finding any vegetarian sustinence. They are the majority of inhabitants in the cities of Vuel'Tek, K'lat, and Aelmarsh.
Han (han): The Han are an easygoing people. They enjoy the company of strangers, and are strongly reliant on crystal power. Physically, the Han are of average height and size ranging from 1.5 meters to 2 meters for adults. Naturally, they are not especially strong, nor especially agile; however, their balanced style of fighting often puts them at an advantage. The Han were the original developers of the crystal technology and were the ones who pushed for the technology to be integrated across the continent. They have also pushed for more fortress cities in the hopes that more cities will further push back the monster masses. They are not crafters by trade; however, they are excellent merchants. Han can often be found integrated with the other cultures selling rare and exotic wares. They receive most of their food from either the Kyruk or Suado surplus in exchange for other goods, and currency. The Han comprise the majority of inhabitants in Vertisa, Oceanis and Ashtar.
Suado (sue-AH-doh): The Suado prefer isolation. They do not wish to mingle with others being stong believers that talk is only used as a necessity and otherwise illogical. They are more advanced than the Kyruk, but not as advanced as the Han. A majority of their wares comprise of pelts for the extreme cold, and metals. As a source of income, the Suado often sell these wares to Han people as the Kyruk are unable to wear these goods in such heat. Physically, the Suado are dauntingly tall clocking in at about 2 meters to 2.5 meters. Most Suado have very pale skin, and usually relatively light hair (from light brown to blonde). They are very agile fighters; however, because of their height, they are not very hard hitters, nor can they withstand a lot of damage. Culturally, the Suado are very spiritual; they wish to respect the monsters, and the land. However, they are willing to kill monsters to feed and defend their families. They are rather indifferent to visitors, however, they have very high standards for respect and courtesy. They are a farming society ocasionally supplementing their diet with game. The Suado comprise the majority of inhabitants in Arborel, Lacushire, and Krell.

Cities
There are 10 fortress cities. Each fortress city has a large wall, or other form or primary defence, and City Barracks where defence is coordinated and units are trained for defence. Players can also come to these Barracks and challenge the head for city honor, and a position on the city army. If the player defeats the Barracks head, they will be awarded a token, and will receive 2x xp for defending the city when it comes under attack. The cities are: Vertisa, Oceanis, Ashtar, Krell, Lacushire, Arborel, Vuel'Tek, K'lat, Aelmarsh, and Durum Fall.
Vertisa (vur-TEEZ-uh): This is the starting city where the player will receive their first monster essence. Located on the plains, it is the center of general commerce and culture. There is an embassy for the Suado and for the Kyruk. The city is very technologically advanced and utilizes crystal power across the city. Vertisa is also a main location for player owned shops. Players can rent shop space and then pay for ads in the shopping district.
Oceanis (oh-she-AN-is): Oceanis is located on the coast and is a fishing and docking hub. Many ships dock here everyday, and many ships sail out from its ports. Buildings are built rather traditionally with plaster and rock and mortar; however, you can still see strong Han technology influences in various places in the city.
Ashtar (ASH-tar): Located on fault lines of the large volcano, Ashtar is home to a large research facility. Ashtar was once inhabited solely by Suado people, however, the Han discovered they may be able to harness volcanic power to further fight the monsters. The Suado agreed to share their land with the temporary Han research team in exchange for protection; however, once the Han arrived, they found rich deposits of crystals and refused to leave. Since then the Suado have been leaving and their numbers are dwindling in the area. The city is mostly comprised of Han with the outer edges and the rest of the island being inhabited by Suado. The facility is large, white, and pristine, while the Suado living accomodations have become little more than straw and wooden huts.
Krell (krel): Krell is covered in snow 11 months out of the year. The inhabitants here wear large pelts that cover almost their entire body. They have developed a method of insulating their homes by creating their dwellings almost entirely underground. Once one enters the city, they see little more than clear domes poking through the ground; however, upon entering a dome they enter a vast network of tunnels and underground gardens specifically built to maintain agriculture underground. The result is that the tunnels are extremely warm as the windows produce a sort of greenhouse effect, both insulating and heating, and protecting the city. There are a few skeptical inhabitants that live above ground in rock and snow structures.
Lacushire (LAH-koo-shy-er): Lacushire lives in a land of lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. There is a large river that runs through the city as a source of food and water for the inhabitants. Often, you can find children playing in the shallower more mild portions of this river while their parents are cleaning clothes, or catching dinner. Families live in larger community houses with up to seven families in one building. The buildings are built out of found materials, most of them being unrefined and unshaped rocks and boulders. This is one of the oldest Suado cities and being such, the history shows; there is grass that grows in the cracks of the tiled ground, and in the cavities of buildings. Several buildings have been damaged by natural causes and have begun to be reclaimed by nature. Large trees grow on some of the oldest buildings, thriving on the frequent rainfall, and sunlight.
Arborel (AR-bore-el): Arborel's infrastructure was built around trees. The roads are a vast network of bridges and nets between houses with a few larger community buildings being on the ground. In general, the city doesn't have much physical defence as the residential buildings are all raised off the ground. Buildings are mainly constructed from wood, leaves, and stretched hides from large monsters.
Vuel'Tek (VOOL-tek): Vuel'Tek is a tropical city. The buildings here make good use of the resources in the area: wood, palm leaves, and animal skins. City defence is mostly limited to a wall made of large wooden spikes stuck into the ground to form a wall. There are bones and skulls of defeated monsters littered about the wall and the city itself. Much of the city is only cleaned and repaired as necessary. Most structures are small makeshift huts for dwellings; however, the larger structures seem more intentional and sturdy being made of laid rock and clay. The city is completely void of all technology and crystal power.
K'lat (kuh-LAT): K'lat resides in the desert. Because of the very arid, hot and sunny climate, cloths can often be found draped over windows and hanging building to building to shelter from the sun. All the structures here are made exclusively out of a clay compound and quarried rock. The city is protected by a tall clay wall that shelters not only from hostile monsters, but also the occasional sandstorm. One can see various small technological structures, such as vents, cooling devices, and the occasional hologram.
Aelmarsh (AYL-mar-sh):
Durum Fall (DUR-um fal):
Vertisa (vur-TEEZ-uh): This is the starting city where the player will receive their first monster essence. Located on the plains, it is the center of general commerce and culture.
